Argentex (AGFX; 98p) was established in 2011 with the aim of providing its SME customers  (for businesses that trade £1m-£500m of annual FX turnover) with an FX service. It makes its money from the difference in exchange rates at which it buys and sells currency for its customers (known as the spread). Economies of scale means it can buy currencies cheaply and it will trade between 1 and 2 basis points from the interbank FX rate (the constantly fluctuating price at which banks trade currencies with each other), add an appropriate spread to that price and provide a quote to the client.  Big banks with legacy technology and people cannot match Argentex on price and it also aims to provide a superior service vers ...
