Kainos -Huge beat on forecasts and special dividend

The shares had already been climbing for weeks but went into orbit after Kainos said it expects profits to be substantially ahead of current consensus for the full year ending 31 March 2021. The news comes just three months into the year!Digital services work on the government’s COVID response programme and new systems ahead of Brexit have both served to drive a record backlog in work. With over 1,700 staff home-working, Kainos has also generated several one-off efficiencies in utilisation rates/billable hours, recruitment and training costs as well as reduced travel expenditure during the lockdown period.
