Nobody would query the notion that electronic care records for patients are a good thing. It allows information sharing between health practitioners and also reduces administrative burdens and so allows the NHS to operate more efficiently. The problem is that previously the NHS has attempted to achieve this with a strategy to replace all the systems that GPs were using.
