In the June issue we remarked on one “rather odd looking statement from Rok,” which has since provided some enlightenment with a profit warning. This said that an independent investigation instigated by the board, relating to the continued disappointment of several problem contracts in its Plumbing Heating & Electrical (PHE) side shows that the division has overstated revenues from some disputed contracts with house builders, without costs being factored in. PHE will therefore make a significant loss this year against earlier broker expectations that it would contribute £5m.
