OPG has issued a trading update that said sales and profit for its power plant in Tamilnadu for the first three months of the year have remained constant at US$3.2m and US$1.8m respectively, similar to previous quarters. The new 10MW waste heat unit based in Chennai on the site of Kanshik steel plant commenced production in August. The 77MW one in Chennai remains on track for production in Q1 09.
