A couple of nice new contracts for Kentz; the big one is a US$250m contract let by Germany-based GEA Energy, as subcontractor for South African utility Escom, for the turnkey delivery of an air-cooled condensing system for the Medupi coal fired power station. Kentz will be responsible for the procurement and installation of 36,000 tonnes of steel structure and platework and 1,800 tonnes of piping over a four and half year period.Separately, Kentz also confirmed that KentzSMNM, a joint venture with the Rosneft Group, has won a contract to build a new 15km road to service the well site associated with the Exxon Neftegas Sakhalin-1 Odoptu development on the east coast of Sakhalin.
