Another excellent set of results from Fisher headed by the hugely successful shipping manager, Tim Harris, driven by the strength of its marine support services businesses (Offshore oil, Specialist Technical and Defence) whilst its marine oil services business performed less well with some of its tankships having to be returned to dry docks. As it was, for the six months to 30 June, pretax profit was up 16% to £11m with eps up 10% to 17.7p. Had it not experienced the unforseen problems in its marine oil services business, the underlying performance would have resulted in profit being £12m, up 27%.
