The efforts of a new and talented management team is breathing new life into one of the stockmarket's battered veterans, listed accountancy practice Tenon (TNO; 24p). The company was established in late 2000 as a cash shell with the remit of becoming a top tier accountancy practice by purchasing smaller practices. The view was that whilst the Big Four were intent on global domination (developing higher value businesses such as corporate finance and IT consulting) for their larger clients, the medium sized practices didn't really have the volume of business to justify employing specialists nor the financial resources to develop such services.
