Gulf Keystone - Algerian oil and gas debutant

North African-focused Gulf Keystone Petroleum is the latest oil andgas exploration company to come to London with the shares due to startdealing on Aim on 8 September. This follows a placing by EvolutionBeeson Gregory which has raised Â£60m at 48p, to value the business atÂ£122m. The funds will enable Gulf, which is incorporated in Bermuda, todevelop its licence Block 126 in northern Algeria. Gulf is developingthe field in conjunction with Algeriaâ€™s state energy giant Sonatrach.Block 126 is at an early stage of development with aggregate proven andprobable reserves of approximately 221 MMboe of which Gulfâ€™s share isapproximately 107 MMboe.
