Parkwood - Bexley PFI contract expected before year end

In the six months ended June, largely as a result of lower interestpayments, profit before tax and earnings increased 16% to Â£0.51m and2.11p, respectively. Turnover was up 6% to Â£21.7m. Sales in Parkwoodâ€™s managed services business, which provides arange of leisure facilities management, grounds management andtree care services grew just 2% to Â£19.2m with a slight improvement inprofitability. This was offset by healthcare, which supplies agencyhealth care staff and outsourced ambulance services, reverting to aloss of Â£74,000 despite sales up 40% to Â£2.4m.
