Also fishing over the pond, Kape landed a whale with the acquisition of ExpressVPN for US$936m (US$354m cash and US$237m shares upfront with US$345m cash then payable in two tranches at 12/24 months). The upfront cash element is funded by a placing at 337.5p.ExpressVPN is one of the biggest brands in the digital privacy space with 3m customers - of which over 40% are in North America - and in FY20 it generated sales of US$279.4m and EBITDA of US$74.8m.
