  After GP3’s 17 month uninterrupted run, I had been expecting a giveback. Mr Market had been in a good mood and quoted ridiculously high prices, but this month he become fearful. With volumes thin, profit taking clipped even those reporting good news. But it shows that the price of a stock is primarily determined by emotions and this is where stock selection comes in and volatility creates the raw material for subsequent  outperformance.
