Four months into the new year trading has been so strong that Solid State expects results for the year to 31 March to be “significantly ahead of expectations.”  There have been three key reasons for the “beat.” First, gross margins are stronger than anticipated as a result of a favourable sales mix in the manufacturing arm and continuing production efficiencies. Second, Pacer, acquired in November ‘18, is performing better than expected. WH Ireland had previously been expecting a flat eps this year but has upgraded from 37.3p to 42.8p.
