A string of London-listed software businesses have attracted bids in recent weeks, as the weak pound and a sluggish stock market have combined to make them cheap to overseas buyers. In our universe we saw a bid for Sanderson (+45% since December ‘18) last month and this month came Statpro (+62% since Sept ‘18). One where the hammer could fall next is Proactis (PHD; 48p), the sixth largest cloud-based e-procurement software company. Its software is used by corporates to manage the purchasing of all non payroll goods and services that are required to run their business eg. electricity, office supplies, store room inventory and so on.
