GAN - Shares explode upwards after H1 significantly ahead of expectations

The shares exploded upwards after GAN, which supplies software to the online casino sector, said H1 trading is significantly ahead of the Board's expectations for the eight months to end August. Having attracted multiple bids after putting itself up for sale in May - just two months after SCSW wrote about it at 51.5p - it said that it has decided to terminate discussions in order to remain independent and maximise value for shareholders.Back in May I had included a quote from chief executive Dermot Smurfit on the back of US prospects for sports betting and real money gaming: “my business, which has sucked for so long, could suddenly become the world’s greatest business.” And so it is proving.
