The shares undeservedly took a hit on H1 results, even though there has been no downgrade. It was always going to be the seasonally quieter half and comparisons are muddied as the group did not exist in its present form a year ago. As it was, for the period, sales were up 4% to £3.3m, with branded cosmetic sales up 8% on a proforma basis. Geographically, performance of one region will ebb and flow but Warpaint is happy as long as the sum of the parts increases and it has seen growth across the board. It said the UK was slower in H1 at +3% but it has seen a pickup in Q3 and now has Christmas orders “significantly ahead of last year”; Europe, which had been weak, has also bounced back helped by late orders and ...
