I can still remember the first time I met Philip Cartmell back in 2001: the full size palm tree in the lobby of his office, fish tanks, flag poles as well as several floors of vacant space.Thankfully that profligacy wasn’t his making and he had just joined the space industry consultancy Vega as its chief executive. Cartmell’s predecessor had put all the fancy stuff in the offices and had built significant costs in anticipation of winning various large, long term contracts.
