The shares spiked after Empresaria reported H1 results and said the “full year will beat market expectations.” Overall, H1 sales was up 3% (constant currency) with pretax profit up 33% to £2.8m. Net debt was down by a third to just £9.9m.When we spoke to chief executive Joost Kreulen he said Empresaria is now in its first year of a five year plan to grow conversion of NFI to operating profit to 20%. These results show it making good progress with the conversion up to 12.4% from 10.9% despite a sharp rise in headcount.The UK saw sales decline by 5% to £31.9m as Empresaria continued its reduction of low pay rate technical sector recruitment to focus on specialist and professional sectors (now 86% of the business).
