Interims were overshadowed by the setback at one of the three acquisitions EKF completed in April – that of molecular business Selah – which just 13 days after being bought had reimbursement rates cut for its drug metabolism genetic biomarkers (DME) panel. The market has rightly reacted with horror and the shares have slumped. Meanwhile brokers – having got their investors into the £26m placing at 35p - have reacted with siege mentality so everyone is calling it a buy.As it was, sales for the six months to 30 June were ahead by 13% to £16.8m and ebitda was up 5% to £2.2m.
