The shares vertically rebounded from the low 60s to over Â£1 before retracing once again following excellent H1 results, which showed sales up 7% to Â£103m and a pretax profit of Â£0.7m.The UK/Europe retail side grew like-for-like sales by 4.6% but reported a loss mainly due to the gross margin reduction. Consequently, groupwide gross margins fell by 260 basis points to 50%.The big progress however is the wholesale and licencing side with sales up 19% to Â£20.3m. Keynote was that royalties from licencing the brand including Sears/Li & Fung in the US went up 67% to Â£3m but income from the rest of the world was higher also. H2 will see overseas franchisees open at least 16 new stores taking the total to 200 stores. ...
