EKF has announced H1 results with sales up 23% to Â£7.4m and an operating loss of Â£1.48m. No great shakes there you might think but it has been a busy few months, with four acquisitions completed in the 18 months since the company embarked on its new strategy to develop its medical diagnostic business targeting the area of diabetes. On a proforma basis, like-for-like sales growth versus the period when the business was private was stated to be 22%.The first of the acquisitions was EKF in Germany, which was bought mainly for its Haemocontrol device for testing haemoglobin, which gives lab quality test results from a fingerstick in 25 seconds.
