POG has announced its decision to proceed with an IPO of its non-precious metals division, IRC, which is expected to list in Hong Kong on 14 October. The logic for listing on the HKEx is that the iron ore asset is located on the Far East of Russia, in close proximity to knowledgeable investors and the target customer base. IRC's float will raise between $375m to $588m - not a bad result given that IRC made a loss of $139m last year and a loss of $51m in the six months to the end of June. The float will leave POG holding 57.5% (54.3% including an over allotment option). Tipped at 205p in Nov â€˜08; await developments. ...
