In the same month that the government unveiled a Â£1 billion plan for insulating peopleâ€™s homes, Superglass has issued another of its cack-handed announcements. This said that results for the year to 31 August will be in line with expectations but that "management cannot be certain about results for the current year" (which incidentally only started on 1 September).No further details were given. Brewin Dolphin suggests that the unprecedented decline in new housing starts is to blame, not because this is a particularly large area for Superglass - it isn't - but because competitors who have been affected by that market may have diverted their efforts to the retrofit insulation market.
