As we all know everything tends to move in cyclical patterns and as sure as day follows night the present bust/ downturn will be followed by a new boom and that boom will be strong. But the problem with cycles is that there is no way of knowing exactly where we are within it and therefore there is no easy answer to the timing of buying and selling shares. But we have recently been looking at the Baltic Dry Index (BDI), which comes from the  shipping industry and measures dry bulk shipping rates and we think this will be a good indicator for investors of when we hit the bottom.
