Clapham House - 'Highly positive' about future

Finally, a pleasing update from Clapham House at its AGM. Having sold the Bombay Bicycle Club in July, Clapham House has three remaining brands in the casual dining segment. The three are: Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) with 53 units, Tootsies with 23 units and The Real Greek with six units. A number of new marketing initiatives over the last quarter (such as buy one get one free meal offers) have helped all the brands, particularly GBK where chairman David Page notes central London remains buoyant. Two new GBKs opened in H1 and the company is currently building four more to open in H2. In addition, one overseas franchise was opened in H1 and two more will come in H2.
