Contentfilm (CFL; 14.25p) is unusual among small companies in that its business has been totally reinvented by chief executive John Schmidt who took the reins in 2004. The business, which started off as Winchester Entertainment, was effectively established when Schmidt merged it with his own business, Contentfilm, in 2004 in an all-share exchange. As finance director Geoff Webb, who we met last month, points out, both businesses were speculative investors in the film industry putting up pre-production finance for a range of films from small commercial British films through to big-budget films from US producers.
