Augean was established last December as a shell to make acquisitions in the hazardous waste sector and results for the six months to 30 June reflect the acquisitions of Atlantic Waste and Zero Waste, both of which now trade as Augean. In line with reduced expectations, Augean reported a pretax profit of £2.1m and sales of £12m. Earnings were 3p. Operating cashflow was strong at £2.5m, leaving net cash at £6.8m.During the half, Augean consigned to hazardous landfill a total of 99,000 tonnes at an average price of £70.45.
