 Nothing in the last month has served to undermine the analysislast month that we may be going into an extended period of muddling through for the UK economy and wider afield.  In the UK, anecdotalevidence highlights a growing mis-match between an increasing volume ofwilling house sellers and a dwindling number of buyers.  Not a house price crash, but the ingredients for a very welcome cooling down. Buyingthe stockmarket in September has historically not paid off and thetime of Autumn storms was best avoided.  But the FTSE 100 indexdoes not currently seem so over-extended that it is vulnerable to asharp break downwards, short of some extreme external shock.  After a few weeks of hesitation either side ...
