I caught up with new chief executive Matt Sassone shortly after Tristel reported its results with sales up 16% to £41.9m, pretax profit up 39% to £7.1m and EPS up 50% to 15.3p. The performance was driven entirely by the UK medical device decontamination business, with Tristel agreeing a new 6-year NHS contract during the year. The period also saw the US presence via reseller Parker established, albeit the going has been slow. Parker spent most of H1 ensuring labelling was correct but appears to have seen a wave of bureaucracy amongst some hospital users in the US, which has caused a slower than expected traction (Parker pays a 25% royalty on sales and this is reported in RoW sales, which showed no increase), although Sassone reports a gr ...
