Another where a would-be-predator has picked up a sizeable stake in a cash rich business is Topps Tiles (TPT; 46.5p), with MS Galleon, chaired by Polish billionaire industrialist Michał Sołowow, acquiring 29.9% and there have been some punchy upgrades in the past couple of years. Earlier this year MS Galleon requisitioned an EGM to oust the chairman and appoint two of its nominees to the board. Galleon also owns Cersanit, a major European producer of tiles, and has tried using its holding to strong arm Topps to purchase a third of its tiles from Cersanit.
