Despite well-known supply shortages of new cars, Lookers’ Q3 update said it expects pretax profit for 2021 to be materially ahead of the previously upgraded expectations. I forget the number of times it has been upgraded since I made the shares a main buy in April. Overall Lookers said that new car registrations in Q3 were down 27.7% and whilst used car sales fell 16.9%, the strong used car margins more than offset the impact on gross profits. Net cash is £30m, versus £25.9m net debt a year ago.Zeus has increased its full year underlying forecasts by 34% to £81.4m pretax profit for eps of 16.7p.
