City Pubs has reported its H1 results to 1 July. Sales were up 24% to £20m helped by five new pubs opened in the half as well as the maturation of eight pubs opened last year. The wet-led premium offer allowed it to capitalise on the excellent weather whilst its sports pubs benefited significantly from the World Cup.City Pubs spent £12m on acquiring nine pubs in H1 and spent a further £3m on refurbishing the estate. Of those, five pubs were opened in the period and a further four since. At the period end, it had a further four brownfield sites in development, one of which should open in Q4 and the other three in 2019.
