Softcat’s finals to end July show its amazing cash generation at work with net cash at the year end of £61.6m, having paid £40.9m in dividends during the year. This time the results were accompanied with another 13.5p special dividend – making for 19.6p in dividends for the year.  Sales were up 24% to £832.5m and gross profit (adjusted for last year’s procurement saving) was up 16% to £136.3m.  Adjusted pretax profit was £51.6m (+16% underlying, i.e. excluding the 2016 one-off procurement-related benefit) for eps of 20.9p.     Strong double-digit growth was seen across software, hardware and services - hot spots being in security (ahead of GDPR compliance ...
