The market’s honeymoon with Majestic Wine has come to an end. Whilst the UK retail chain has performed well as has Naked Wines in the UK and Australia, the company warned that current year profits will be below expectations due to two factors.  First, commercial sales (sales of wine to pubs and restaurants) have been flat year-on-year versus expectations of double digit growth. Naked Wines in the US has also experienced several unsuccessful direct marketing campaigns. Each of these factors will reduce EBIT by £2m. Investec has lowered its eps forecast for the year by 24% to 12.8p with next year’s cut by 17% to 18.9p. Await interims on 17 November.    ...
