The housing market has been storming ahead again with a report from Rightmove saying that central London asking prices rose by 10.2% in October and that listings had also risen (which is the lifeblood of any estate agency). This is only flaming the fires at Foxtons (FOXT; 305p), the agency business in London, which made its debut on the Full List in September. Foxtons was established in 1981 with the first branch opened by John Hunt in Notting Hill who sold out in May 2007 to venture capitalists BC Partners for £360m. BC lost the business to the banks in 2010 after breaching covenants but in 2012 bought back majority control and has now flipped it back onto the market at three times its investment.
