Judges Scientific - WH Ireland sets 950p share price target

A lack of space meant we omitted reviewing interims to 30 June last month. These demonstrated that trading momentum continues and in the light of the results brokers have upgraded their forecasts once more. The first half set a seven-year record with sales up 39% to £13.4m, adjusted pretax profit up 47% to £2.6m and eps up 40% to 38.4p. The interim dividend was 5p, an increase of 51%. Demand is export led with organic growth within businesses owned in both 2011 and 2012 of 8%.The balance of the increase was attributable to a six-month contribution from Deben (versus three months) and of Global Digital Systems and KE, each of which contributed for three months.
