Dynamic individuals can transform businesses and hugely enrich their shareholders. One company that certainly benefited from such an injection of dynamism has been AIM-listed gold miner Norseman Gold. The gold projects in Western Australia that now form part of Norseman have had a history of mining gold since 1937 but seemed to turn into perpetual loss machines in the early part of the decade under the previous owner, Croesus Mining, which was the third largest Australia-domiciled gold producer at the time. Croesus had bought the projects in 2002 when gold was around US$300 an ounce but it ended up with major financing issues after bad decisions over a number of years left it with gold production levels well short of hedgin ...
