Having had a fairly pleasing update in September, when Land of Leather reported its store opening programme was ahead of plan, the company has now warned of difficult trading in Q1 as the effect of five interest rate rises filter through. For the 13 weeks ended 28 October, total sales were boosted by 5% due to nine new store openings but like-for-like sales fell by 9.2%, although these were against strong comparables. Shore Capital forecasts eps of 29.5p for the year, so the PE is only 7.2. It remains a class act but in a sector that is well out of favour; we will drop update cover. ...
