Avanti Screenmedia (140p) is a fully-integrated media group which, through its various parts, creates and develops in-store television programming for pubs and retailers. Not only does it create the content but also broadcasts it, installs and maintains the in-store plasma screens and sells advertising space. The shares floated on AIM in July following a placing by Seymour Pierce at 130p which raised £3m and valued Avanti at £12.9m. They have had a relatively quiet time since then.  Just 14 months earlier, Avanti had acquired its largest competitor from Diageo for £1 and its historical numbers therefore bear little relevance to the business as it currently exists.
