At the AGM, Provalis reported that the first quarter of the financial year has started well. Management sales in the period were £3.5m reflecting the impact of Diclomax sales and the penetration of Glycosal in the USA market. Sales of medical diagnostics were £0.7m in the quarter - just below those for the whole of 2002. This reflects the US launch of Glycosal by Cholestech as well as the supply to Abbott Laboratories of over 1,300 instruments. Firm orders for delivery in the second quarter are £1m. Total number of instruments sold was  1,800, with a further 1,300 to ship in the second.
