In the March issue I briefly mentioned Porvair and this month the shares made another fleeting attempt to break higher, supported by a 7/8% upgrade from broker Peel Hunt for this year and next. Established in 1963 and led for many years by Ben Stocks (who has announced an intention to stand down next year), Porvair has achieved a remarkable transformation. 20 years ago it was a manufacturing business without much of a strategy but it has reinvented itself as a specialist filtration company.
