AlphaFX - Placing to raise new money

The latest results from AlphaFX were good - a 51% increase in revenue to £35.4m, pretax profit up 47% to £14.7m and eps up 32% to 29.2p - but these results were then overshadowed by an equity raise and news that it had come close to experiencing a large potential loss from a single trade.Alpha said that its largest client, a global exporter of food produce, had been unable to settle a margin obligation of £30.2m. This client has been selling US Dollars to buy Norwegian Krone and accounted for 15% of the forward book.
