The shares found their second wind after Alliance reported its 2018 results showing its Local Heroes drugs have recovered during H2 whilst its International Stars continued to move ahead strongly. Sales were up 22% at £124m, with like-for-like revenue up 4%. Pretax profit was up 17% to £28.1m for eps of 4.5p.International Stars doubled sales to £40.4m and their growth helped push up gross margin by 0.4% to 58.6%. Within this mini portfolio, Kelo-cote, Alliance’s scar reduction product, delivered an outstanding performance with sales up 68% to £22.5m due to strong growth across the Asia Pacific region and in Europe.
