The first half results to end January were on the surface OK. Sales were ahead by 36% to £41.6m, pretax profit was up 17% to £9.1m and eps increased 21% to 9.8p.Utilitywise ended H1 with net debt of £10.2m compared to net cash of £1.6m a year ago. That, of course, was after spending £6.4m on t-mac. Eliminating this movement between the two periods equates to a £5.4m outflow, which reflects a high level of energy contract extensions business (23% versus 42% last year) and which is expected to decline this year.
