Energy Assets has received a knockout bid at 685p a share. The bid from an investment vehicle owned by Alinda, an infrastructure investment firm, values it at £198m. Alinda already has irrevocable undertakings to accept the offer from investors accounting for 44.6% of the equity so the deal looks cut and dried.EAS presently targets smart meter installation for the industrial sector but with the UK government committing to getting 53 million smart meters into our homes and small businesses by the end of 2020, at an estimated cost of £11bn, there’s clearly much to play for.The shares were a main buy at 348p in May ’14.
