Acal reported a better than expected finish to the year to end March. Sales were up 6% (14% at constant exchange rates), driven by acquisitions and 3% organic growth in the high margin Design & Manufacturing business, which now accounts for over three quarters of profits. Sales in Custom Distribution were down 7% at constant exchange rates, affected by three large non-repeating orders last year and a challenging underlying market.Before the news Finncap was forecasting sales of £297m, pretax profit of £14.4m and eps of 16p for the year ended. With a full year contribution from the three acquisitions, this year’s forecasts are £326m, £17.6m and 19.3p. Strong hold. ...
