Lavendon is an equipment rentals business specialising in elevated platform hire for those working at height and will have been on the Full List for 13 years this October. Looking at its share price chart, it's easy to infer that this is very much a cyclical business, as are most rental companies. The share price has plunged from a high of 750p a year ago to under £1 a couple of months ago as investors have been taking the view that there is a risk the business won’t survive.But since it floated, Lavendon has transformed itself via acquisitions from what was originally a UK-based business into one that dominates the markets in Germany, the Middle East, Belgium, France and Spain.
