SSP has announced its first acquisition since joining AIM. It is taking over the INSURE/90 insurer systems business from Computer Sciences Corporation in Johannesburg. SSP already supplies a similar legacy insurer administration product in Europe having bought the Insure+ business from CSC in 2005 and the latest move gives it a foothold in the general insurance solutions sector of the African market. The product is used by six insurers and will add £1.3m to sales. Separately, SSP issued a trading update stating that results for the year to 31 March will be in line with market expectations, with strong performances in particular from its Distribution and Insurer Systems divisions.
