La Tasca has issued a pre-close statement ahead of results on 4 July. The statement confirmed that it had opened 14 new restaurants in the year to 30 April, to take its total to 64. Of the new openings, five came in the final seven weeks of the financial year end and hence will have made a minimal contribution to those results. Trading at the group's new bar, grill and smokehouse concept, Sam & Maxie's, is described as ahead of expectations. Charles Stanley is expecting the group to report a pretax profit of £6.24m for the year just ended (eps 8.9p) with £7.7m pretax (11p) this year.
