Electric Word - Buys educational mail order business

Electric Word has acquired Incentive Plus and Incentive Publishing, which came as a single package, for £2.05m cash. To fund the deal, it has placed 23m shares at 8.25p to raise £1.9m. Incentive is an educational mail order operation providing practical materials in the areas of social, emotional and behaviour skills in children and young people; it also owns the intellectual property to a small amount of the product it sells and these are predominantly marketed to primary and secondary schools, the same market Electric World already addresses. The businesses achieved adjusted audited pretax profit of £0.3m on sales of £2.4m in 2005 but is expected to be eps neutral this year. We tipped the shares ...
